Hi, guys.

Just received my first-ever order from you guys. Thanks for all the goodies!

However, I have a problem....

My RAS II LT152 won't mount on my ARMS 18 Swan mount for my M1A.

Uh...... Any suggestions? I want to mount the Aimpoint from a single point forward of the ejection port....

Thanks.

ETA: I guess I'm looking for a ring like this:

Your problem is you are trying to mount a piece of quality to an airsoft equipment

ARMS-owner-being-an-asshole issues aside, I'd hardly call it "airsoft equipment".

Now, if you'd like to actually help, I'm all ears.

ETA: Although I will admit to being a bit miffed by the fact that the rail isn't mil-spec.....

ETAA: I'll go look on LaRue's site to see if thy have an option for me....

what exactly is the problem? is the lug in the center of the LT mount not engaging the swan sleeve?

i used to have an ARMS SIR with LT mounts with no issue.

I have that exact ring in the picture if you want it, unfortunetly its not that high quality.

The LaRue mount has two pegs in the bottom that engage the grooves in a rail. In this case, the groove in the rail is fine, but the lands on either side are too wide to allow the two teeth on the LaRue mount to straddle them.

I appreciate that.

Quality is a bit of an issue with me, so I'm wondering if you know of an alternate? ETA: Aw, hell. There's plenty of them. None cheap.

BTW, who makes the one you have?

I'm sure if Larue made a mount for his M1A he would use that instead of what he has. I have a few friends that have M1A's and the duck mount is the only option.

My agency has a few M14's that need a better quality mount.

Apples and oranges here but I have the same duck base on my M1A and the LT-104 clamps right down on it.

As a matter of fact, yes I do.

Calibrated and everything.

Dude it was on the moment Zaphod said Larue was mounting Swan.

Same thing happened with an LT-150 and my SOCOM's scout mount. Annoying.

Which style ARMS 18 do you have? Is it the old split rail design, as shown in the pic above? Or the newer continuous rail that they make now?

If you're talking about a rail, SEI, Fulton, Sadlak, Trijicon & Troy also make them.

But a LaRue version would be a nice option....

Indeed!

Especially true if it is an open design. That way I can un-ARMS my collection in one shot.

Unfortunately it has been asked several times and always silence. I figure the main problem is receiver spec differences between manufacturers. It could also have to do with there is only one good way to put a mount on an M1A and most have the same basic design so patents would be tough to get around. You would literally have to reinvent the wheel so you could patent the tire.

Me too!

When you said that the "LT152 won't mount on my ARMS 18", what do you mean? Are the ARMS rails are too short, too wide, or too narrow, for it to clamp on to? Does the mounted scope sit too low and then interferes with mating the base and mount together?

I might almost buy an M1A if LaRue made an optic mount for them.
