M16 BAD-CASS-3P in the white, no serrations on the levers yet.

The M16 BAD-CASS-3P (Combat ambidextrous safety selector, 3 piece) has a stronger lever attachment method.  More pictures in detail coming soon

The semi auto units take less time to make, the M16 versions are the ones that are still in low rate production and taking longer to manufacture

We got our patent pending paperwork back, so now we can post more detailed pictures.

The lever attachment method is a departure from the typical means (bar on the lever, female channel at the selector center's tip.)  The dovetail arrangement allows the shear force and pressure to be handled by the dovetail's male/female interface, and leaving the screw to the task of simply keeping the lever and the selector center in place.

The CASS-3P, M16 will be available this late October in small quantities, we will enable back order on these in October

With the CASS-3P, M16 close to delivery, we'll be sharing some development info here, and shed light on some aspects of the selector for those interested in one.

The CASS-3P was developed for a specific customer, and came to being in record time (from initial drawing to delivery of finished products in 2.5 weeks).

Originally, the CASS was going to be a two piece unit (left lever permanently attached), and in M16 guise only.  The CASS-3P is modular just like our semi auto selector.  For now it is M16 only, we'll be making a semi auto version of it for the next production run.

Highlights:

* All CNC machined

* A new lever attachment system.  CASS-3P uses a horizontal dovetail to attach the levers to the selector center.  This removes load and shear force from the screw, and relegates the screw to the task of simply keeping the lever fastened to the selector.  The horizontal dovetail is immensely strong, stronger than the conventional channel/bar lever attachment system found on most ambidextrous selectors.  The channel/bar system works just fine, it's what our current semi auto selector uses (we use stronger and longer screws to make sure the levers stay put better than others)

* Initially, CASS-3P comes with the standard and thin lever, with an optional cap.  The end cap turns it into a convertible (fully ambidextrous, or single lever), and rapidly reversible (left lever only, or right lever only, without removing the pistol grip, backing out the detent and detent spring) selector.  For the next production run, a short lever will be available.  We have not decided if we will produce a short-thin and hybrid levers for it yet.  If the demand exists, they will be made

* Due to its lever attachment system, no parts are interchangeable with our modular semi auto selectors, other than the included wrench and KNS Precision stainless detent

* Some of you may have noticed, the screw hole is drilled through to the M16 auto sear slot.  The screw itself will never extend through the sear slot and bind the sear.  It is necessary to have the hole drilled all the way through because while we hold a very tight tolerance on our selector centers and levers, the tolerance on the screws (one of the few parts we do not make ourselves) can vary.  Drilling through to the sear slot ensures all supplied screws will seat properly.  It is more important to us that this happens, instead of a clean look (aesthetics have no voting powers in our design)

* MSRP is $99 with two levers, the end cap is optional ($17.95), price subject to change, as we usually run an introductory offer on any new product.  It isn't cheap, but the best rarely is

Hint: not ours

80,000 rounds and counting, our CNC machined CASS-3P has not experienced a single failure, certainly not a catastrophic one like this

Precision, strength, unmatched quality will be self evident when one picks up one of ours

Please note that the CASS-3P, M16 will only come with two levers by default, a third lever or cap is an option.  The picture above shows optional equipment.

Is it possible to get a hybrid lever adapted/made for this?..  nevermind..  i just read the post above..

there  " IS " demand from at least me for at least 1 hybrid..  is that sufficient?

The hybrid and short-thin levers are eclipsed by the original three levers we introduced: standard, short, and thin.  For most users, these three levers fulfill most ergonomics needs.

For CASS-3P, the intended market is military and police, which normally do not need or want all these options, they usually want just two
