Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Magpul said years ago that because of the geometry of MP5 magwell, they weren’t able to make a standard double stack magazine because the polymer would be too thin. The reason they were able to make the drum is because the drum mag is single stack going into the magwell, thus allowing for thick enough polymer and proper feeding mechanism. Again, if I am recalling incorrectly, someone please provide the correct information. I am old, forgetful, and currently experiencing COVID brain fog. |

I know there's two versions of the AK mag. One is a MOE version and the other one has steel reinforced lips. I agree if they would to do that it might help with the feeding and reliability of the mag. |
