There is no way that this would prevent a 3rd party from personal development of a compatible mag. At best this is an agreement with Sig. That being said magpul will not make MPX mags. There are not enough sales to justify the expense. Further more it's an opportunity cost. If they are making MPX mags, they are not making other mags that will definitely be higher volume.
