If I had the patience to read earlier, I would have noticed this from their site:
"The actual color is not an exact match to Flat Dark Earth and will not perfectly match Magpul’s® standard Flat Dark Earth color of other Magpul® products." I think it is the color that they had before that they called FDE, but might have got some complaints that it didn't match peoples FDE parts. Bunch of girls

Bunch of girls Sand Camo is probably just a bunch of FDE color rejects after somebody spilled their green beverage into the FDE color tank.

Got a sand camo on order. They say it has hues of FG along with the FDE base color. Should be close enough and should be interesting to see, maybe even a little on the collectible side perhaps, seeing as it was a " LIMITED PRODUCTION" . If not, then it still is worth a try. Can't wait to mate it up with the ASAP I've had for a month now. Now I have to go out and find a CQD front sling attach.
