they replace the main shackle with what they use on the other end. Seems cheaper like that. Probably other stuff too

I've also seen a rifle go into the dirt because the shackle wasn't closed

So are you saying that the older MS2 is actually probably better?  If so, I might ought to buy one now rather than waiting for the MS3.

The MS3 is 100% made in house by Magpul from  what I gather, which I think was why they changed the connectors and simplified the sling.

I think the new hardware is thinner as well. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to cut that jingle ring off and mount right to the ASAP directly.

I'll be selling two MS2's when they're available!

yea, its never gonna happen

magpul decided that since they waited this long to release it they just arent going to now.

seriously how damn long can it take to release a sling, i mean i could understand if it required precise machine work to a bolt carrier or something

but we are talking about a damn length of nylon with some metal clips on it

If its just a length of nylon with metal clips on it why dont you go get some nylon, some metal clips and make your own?  Why are you relying on Magpul to release something that is so incredibly simple to design and mass produce when you could be making thousands of them in your garage and selling them for amazing profits?

I mean really man, why arent you jumping on this?  Id buy at least a million of your incredible designs.

perfectly content with my MS2 now just need the RSA
7/8/2010 9:26:28 AM EDT
[#13]
The intent behind my original question was to find out if there was anything inherently wrong with the MS2 that required a change to the MS3.  By the responses, I gather the MS2 is perfectly fine and the change is due to reasons other than having to upgrade hardware or modify the functional design.

Thanks for the input gentlemen.

It was a joke my friend....

you know they have been taking so long to release it I made a joke about it, saying they decided they werent going to anymore since they have been delaying it so long.

But i thought it was so easy a caveman could do it?  Why would you need money to make anything?  I thought Magpul produced everything out of hopes and dreams...dont you have hopes and dreams?

did I ever say magpul produced things out of hopes and dreams? NO

All my comment meant is that magpul plays with their cards close and the ONLY thing we know about the MS3 as compared to the MS2 is that they wern't released at the same time.

It'll be a a great product with great function once we can buy them. Until then I will wait patiently.
