http://magpul.commercev3.com/downloads/M-LOK_Release_FAQs.pdf![]() Looks interesting. I remember that we used a nut almost exactly like that on some of the wire and hose clamps on the F-15s I maintained, they worked pretty well. |

Quoted: That looks quite a bit like our patent pending ARC LOK mounting system. Sven Manticore Arms Not a new fastener, just a (possibly) new application for them. |

Very good of Magpul to put the design out there for other companies to use for free.
I look forward to seeing what other companies adopt this. I know this is Magpuls answer to Keymod; not because they are trying to make a profit, but because Keymod doesn't work with polymer, and Magpul is heavy on the polymer products. I hope this takes off. It looks better than Keymod, and looks more practical. |

Quoted: What advantage is there to this vs other "modular" designs? |

After reading the whole product brief, I can say bravo Magpul. Very well thought out and I believe will be a great contender to the 'shelf rails' currently in favor within the industry.
I want to know what this is, but I guess I'll have to wait a couple more days: • M-LOK will immediately replace MOE slots on all new products introduced by Magpul
Industries. The first of these will be the new MOE SL shown at the 2014 NRA Annual Meeting and Exhibits April 25th-27th. |

Off the top of my head, easier to machine than Keymod, while being more suited to polymers, and cheaper to produce handguards and free-float tubes that don't need threaded inserts. Quoted:

Looks like it extends to the left over the delta ring and to the right around the bottom of the FSB. |
the slots on MOE were always to narrow. Couldn't even fit a tape switch through them. The new product looks good, but it's kind of annoying that the couple of MOE handguards that I have bought recently will have no accessories being made for them in the future.

You just gotta be really careful and steady handed when you do it. A couple hours' effort will save you a bunch of money from having to upgrade. Read the PDF on the M-LOK system in the OP and scroll down to the FAQ/Q&A section, they show you the size difference in the vent slots. |

It does look like a new MOE handguard, I see "MOE ?" on the front end, cannot make out what is in the box. This would appear like it is right and left side pieces but could be just showing the inside of the handguard; the new mystery product has the below equator line like classic MOEs have so it could be top/bottom split. Sunday - PMAG 25 LR gen 3 Monday - AUS PMAG Tuesday - MLOK Wednesday - MK8 Rail Thursday - New MOE handguard?? Friday - AK handguards and stocks for sure NRA show opening is on Friday, |

The inside of that looks nothing like any kind of AK I've ever seen. The retainer on the front is round...and the back is shaped nothing like an AK either. I'm going with 'not an AK'. I dont know how that handguard would fit on an AR. It is not for an AR. |

The big round part on the front goes over the hand guard cap and covers a good portion of the front sight base, the rear partially envelops the delta ring. Quoted:

So you can tactically examine your gas tube? That is for an AK. |

The nub on the bottom, under the MOE SL text is the same. |
