I'm was wondering what 7.62 magazine allows the greater OAL, Larue, Magpul or Lancer?

All are great magazines.
Polymers need a bit more material for structural strength.

LaRue: 2.867"
Lancer: 2.840"
Magpul: 2.840"

I have a couple of magpul's for my 7.62. They won't take a cartridge loaded to 2.82". Having said that, the same cartridge loaded in a LT magazine had room to spare.

Thank You mfingar for the answers Sir. Did you guys have a price change on the 7.62 magazines in the last few months? When the Lancers were released I thought they were more than the LaRue magazines. unless I missed something along the way.

Roentgun that's good info, because that's shorter than the measurement mfingar gave. I was kinda set on going with the LaRue magazines but was wondering what the number are. Thank You for the help!

Here is Lancers answer to my e-mail.

Thank you for your interest in our L7’s
Our stated OAL for the L7 is 2.83” but you may be able to get an additional .005” out of it.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Best Regards,

In fairness, you might be able to squeeze them in, but @ 2.82" they were rubbing the ends in the Magpul's I have.

If the price changed it wasn't by much. Pretty sure I've never seen them going for what the Lancers are selling for.

So I am assuming " set of 1" means a package of 2?

That is a negative! A single LT mag = $79. $149 for a set of 2. Although they are pricey they are not your run of the mill GI mags. Outside of the most egregious abuse, I have no doubt these will last the lifetime of my rifle(which doesn't live it's life in a safe btw).

They still not that bad, look at the price of Accuracy International mags.

The OAL of the new M118LR/SR PMAG is a bit longer to accomodate the 2.81-something~ish OAL required for that round.

The only mag I've seen have a longer OAL allowance than the LaRue mag is the KAC mag (and not by much), and I can tell that the one that I have is definitely a bit lesser in the fit/finish department than the LaRue mags.

Thanks for the input guys. Still working on getting everything for my OBR, Oilfield slowing down has made me slow down on buying. I plan on reloading for it later so that's the origin of the question.
