Where do we sign up for a Magpul Factory Tour?
I would love to see your operation. With such a small building, you must be top Teir to produce millions of Magazines , Stocks and Accesories. The arrangement of multiple dozens of injection machines and presses must be impressive. Not to mention the hundreds of tractor trailers daily. Your shipping department must be swamped. Must be a streamlines operation for sure. Where do we sign up? I speak a little Mandarin so no big deal. |

We have several other buildings in the surrounding area that service molding, assembly and shipping. None of our products are manufactured outside of the USA and over 90% are manufactured within a 35 mile radius of the admin building in Erie, Colorado. Hell even our non ITAR items like the iPhone cases are tooled and manufactured here in Colorado. |

You could always tell them that you are in business school and would like to a case study on their manufacturing processes. Companies love to show off to students, I should know ![]() Yeah I get at least one of those requests every year. We never reply to them. |

This has to be on par with seventh grade flirting, "you won't show me your tits" in hopes that our shirt will fly off.
I haven't given a tour in a very very long time. OPSEC is key. If you're implying our manufacturing can't happen in such a small place think again. Subterranean operation. Deep in the bowels of mother earth. This is where we extract the secret ingredients for our polymer mixtures. |

I would love to see his letter to McDonalds.
"Dear Sir or Madam, I find your advertising campaign touting "Billions served" to be utterly impossible, given the size of your restaurant. I have not only seen photos of your restaurant online but have in fact visited it in person, and there is no way you can produce that quantity of food in your tiny kitchen. The only assumption a sane person can make is that you are in fact outsourcing your French Fry Frying to Asia. Please come clean about this blatant lie. Sincerely, A Concerned Consumer" |

Not even any pictures?
How about some workers posing in front of those machines running 24/7? No warehousing? Or will you say your suppliers ship direct to dealers so you don;t need any warehousing? Of all the forums i am on....over the last few years. i have Never Seen or Heard anyone say " Hey, I work for or I make Magpul products' Weird........... I just hope people are aware of the laws that allow you to state that products are made in the USA....even though they are not. That is why Canadian is better, we aren't gullible. Blackhawk says Made in the USA too.... LOL. Ya , right. |

Blackhawk says Made in the USA too.... LOL. Ya , right. I can tell you this, I do Insurance Inspections on these type of places all the time. I work for Insurance Underwriters. 9 times out of 10, I am allowed to go into the production area to verify how many injection molding machines and various other machines they have. And am able to see any protective equipment they have, and make sure all safety equipment is in place. But I'm asked not to take any photos of the production area due to trade secrets. If I'm not allowed to take pics of that area when I go in, I doubt very seriously that you will see any pics of the process. Just like magicians never tell how they perform the tricks, companies like MagPul have secrets they keep safeguarded as well. |

OP, you should spend your time investigating chem trails. It would be more productive.
It's not easy to manufacture on the scale that we do and do it entirely in the US, but EVERYTHING is done in the US, and as Rich said, mostly close enough to the admin building that we can drive to any facility over lunch. Products sometimes take longer to get to market since there is only so much mold making capacity here. Labor costs are higher for everything. Warehousing is somewhat fragmented, and it takes a lot of coordination to ship everything we do. But it's all worth it, and even making the iPhone cases, despite that fact that it would be faster and easier to get something like this made overseas, it's done here. ALL of it. Because it's the whole point. If we couldn't do what we do here, we'd do something else that we COULD do here. We're still a geurrilla operation with a survival mentality. There is no "ivory tower", massive plant that is all things Magpul. It's one central hub with a whole bunch of satellite facilities. It's messier, but it works, and it fits the way we think. OK...just kidding. We are decentralized because our entire operation is based on cottage industry. We employ thousands of Colorado-born old-world polymer craftsmen who lovingly hand carve each product out of material that is mined by trained housecats with little shovels from meteor-strike deposits in the precambrian layers of Colorado bedrock. We run a trade school to train new carvers using a faculty of existing crafstmen augmented by a small number of the wood carvers from the Philippines that make those little airplanes on a stick that they use at Top Gun and the desk top name plaques that you see all over the USMC. Our springs are hand drawn from real unicorn horn and tempered in leprechaun urine. The green colorants in our ODG and Foliage products are actually derived from soylent green. It's people!!!!!!! Is that more believable to you than the fact that we can somehow, beyond your comprehension of our business model, make stuff in the USA? As a nation, we used to make everything here from widgets to TVs to clothing...why is it so hard to believe that someone can do it again, using US labor, US suppliers, and US ingenuity? Because we do. We'd invite you to take a tour, but the unicorns are afraid of Canadians. :-) |

Mmmm, manufacturing pr0n I thought I knew basically how injection molding worked but it turns out I was incorrect in a few key areas

Just kidding guys, glad to see that with all the insanity you still have time to laugh and fuck around. |

Couple of points. I work in the automotive sector and I'll tell you, watching injection machines run is pretty much on the same level as watching paint dry. It's not like CNC milling machines or stamping machines. Pretty boring.
What is cool are the molds themselves and how they are made. |
