Recently received my Magpul XTM handstop kit in black which luckily was the only color they had in stock from MidwayUSA. However it seems that on closer inspection I see some discrepancies between this kit and what is supposedly the final version and the picture on the box. Did I get screwed over? The box top was in bad condition when I received it, the top definitely looked like it had been fiddled with. What I noticed: - The final version of the handstop was to incorporate tiny logos as with the MIAD to deter counterfeiting. I know this from seeing pictures of this on the web and also it is visible on the box picture - On the box I see there is a flathead screw securing the handstop portion. I only realized this now from seeing the box diagram. This is what I got: As you can see, the screw does say Magpul USA on it but the texture on the panels is unusual. It isn't like the prototypes with a linear pattern but instead a random mix of zig zagging lines. Akin to ice cream sprinkles. Here is a picture of the prototype pattern: Any ideas? It's nitpicking but I think the Magpul logo texturing is quite neat and would be nice. |

Quoted: These are the pics from the Magpul website. Draw your own conclusions but they look the same to me. http://cdn.magpul.com/images/uploads/179_1070_popup.jpg http://cdn.magpul.com/images/uploads/180_1065_popup.jpg gotcha, looks the same to me the more I look at it. Now that I think about it I only had seen what I believed to be the one with the logos once. I swear a Magpul rep had pointed out that they were done in the final version. it's true that they do not affect function. I'll be keeping my set either way.
