I just committed to buying a surefire z2 and it is comming with the tailcap and a ring to mount on a rail.  I do not believe that the origional owner had upgraded the rest of the light for weaposn use however...  I am curious if I add the M32 Shock bezel if that would be adequate to give the light a better chance of survival if I were to mount it on a gun?

I already have a Surefire 962U with the duel button/tapestrip tailcap and it is my goto weapon light for the M4 Carbine so this will likley never get used as a weapon light...  I just want to see if I do buy the shock bezel if the light might work as a weapon light and if I need more stuff as well to help the light live through this kind of use.

The Z32 is the only upgrade you can go with in order to help preserve the incandascent lamp.  It's certainly an added safeguard and I know I would add it.

The only other option you really have is if you want to go to an LED, the new KL3 head would be suitable and eliminate the worry of a lamp failure.
