In the spirit of this holiday weekend, how about some thanks for those that have kept us free.  Starting with the ones I've known best:  

My dad after his 25th mission as B-24 pilot.  That nose art is based on a picture my mom-to-be sent him.

I'm remembering Capt Patch Hardesty, USMC (Ret), KIA Memorial Day 2003 and Cpl Jennifer Parcell, USMC, KIA Iraq 2007...may they continue to rest in peace.

Thanks to my Uncles Ronny, Donny, Gerry and Marvin, Cousins Bobby and Kyle,  and all the rest of the troops that have and are serving for this great Nation!!!!

Seaman Miles Judge Butler- US Navy, Spanish American War, relief force, Peking China Boxer Rebellion-later Secret Service, body guard to President Mckinley.

Remembering my dad: Sgt Frank Johnston, USMC.  Served in the 2nd Div during WWII.  Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa, Nagasaki.  He passed last October and is dearly missed.

Remembering all, especially Airman First Class Elizabeth Jacobson, KIA by an IED on September 28, 2005, in Safwan Iraq.  She was 21 and hailed from Riviera Beach Florida.  She was the first Security Forces Airman to die in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the first USAF SF woman lost as a result of combat action.
