I cant decide....... A cheaper product with a great background... being the Magpul Moe handguard...
Or one of the more expensive 150-250 quad rail systems................. Anyone got a pic of what the Moe looks with MBUS irons and a vertical grip....... |
|
Ive seen some pictured that make the moe's look dreamy and some make it look spacey........ I dunno.... Cant really beat the price for the brandname....just seems like the weight difference would be big too, although none different then standard m4's............
Hmm... im assuming standard polymer rail inserts for the bottom. |

Theres a bunch of pics of Noveske carbines with MOE handguards in my EE ad.
A bit too much to throw up here. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=21&t=713702 ETA: ah, no VFG though.

I guess they look like a nice piece of equipment for an affordable price.
Ive been searching for vertical foregrips..... Seems like the variety is endless. What im looking for is something in the 20-30$ range.. Something not to stubby/wide..... Or to long and skinny. Also, i see Magpul has the insert rails for the handguards... would i be able to order that right from their website? |
| I am by no means bashing Magpul. I have a 9mm ar that I just got done building CTR stock MBUS rear Miad Grip and MOE handguards. I mounted the polymer falcon rail at the six o' clock position and attached a surefire M900. There is a ton of wobble in the grip using this setup. I am seriously considering getting a rail system for this rifle as there is way to much play in the grip for me. |

for those with wobble- wrap a little electrical tape around the contact points, and it will be rock solid. Won't take more that a layer or 2. I think I am going to take the plunge. You can't beat the MOE price and I'll see if I like the new light weight feeling. If anything they are the perfect place-holder until you can buy what you might want more. The MOEs are exactly what I have in mind for the SBR I'm assembling. |

If anything they are the perfect place-holder until you can buy what you might want more. The MOEs are exactly what I have in mind for the SBR I'm assembling. I currently have a KAC RAS on my carbine, but I'm not putting anything on the rail. I use to run a VFG and decided I didn't like the feel. My thinking is that the rail is unnecessary weight. I love Magpul products and figure I'll give the MOE a shot. If I ever plan on mounting anything on the handguard it'll be a sling mount and maybe a flashlight, nothing the MOE can't handle. I must say I do like the way the KAC panels and rail look, but I'll reserve my judgment once I try out the MOE set. I know one thing, if I was building a SHTF rifle, I'd probably be using the MOE guards, they just seem the most practical. That's why I'd like to have a set around, even if I wasn't using them. |
