Hello Troy Ind.
I was looking at the Claymore break on your website & like what I see, but I did not see the "post ban complaint when perm. attchd." on the Claymore page, as I saw on the Medieval page. So two questions: 1. is the Claymore PB Cmplnt if perm. attchd.? and 2. Would a 20" with a Claymore be a good fit or do you recommend the medieval for a 20" ? Thank you for your help! |

Hi, Since the ATF stopped certifying muzzle devices in 2004, we can no longer state that our brakes are "atf" approved as there are no longer any federal laws that apply to them.
The Claymore is a linear brake. It's made to direct the sound, concussion effect and muzzle blast foreword and away from the shooter. It's really shooters preference but if you have ever shot next to someone shooting a standard brake, you can feel the concussion effect on the side and even behind the shooter. The claymore does away with this and directs all the energy in front of the shooter. It is NOT a flash suppressor. We use the Claymore on our short barrel rifles mostly due to the lack of burnt powder. On a 20" rifle I would recommend the medieval personally, but again that is shooter choice. Since the Claymore has no side slots it should certainly be ban complaint but since this is now a state issue there is no way to be 100% sure it's accepted by your state. Thanks! Matt |
