I started this thread a little while ago just to introduce myself. I wanted to document my build and get your thoughts, opinions, suggestions, anything you have to say. I apologize for the crappy pictures, our camera sucks. Anyways the first image is its current status with parts list.
GripPod LE Magpul ASAP (not installed need to get an armorers wrench) Magpul XTM Rail Covers Magpul PMAG w/window and w/out Magpul Ranger Plates Voodoo Tactical MOLLE Gun Case (on its way) HellFighter Tactical X-15 Light (on its way) http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc295/Dubrider6/new.jpg "Picked it up last week and was able to shoot over the weekend. Love it! I'm very happy with my purchase. Now lots of reading and research for accessories. Enjoy some pics." http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/sarahbstrong/colt1.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y114/sarahbstrong/colt2.jpg |

Congratulations... I put a TA33 ACOG on mine with magpul CTR stock and the flat XT rail panels. Now that the LE rollmark *seems* to be discontinued, I'm thinking of putting it back in original form and not touching it. If so, it means that it would have been produced less than 2 full years... a sure to be collectors item.
Don't forget! Post your rifle pics in the tacked 6940 pic thread for all to see! Again, congrats on your new rifle, it's very nice piece of kit and silly accurate. |

Thanks all! It is damn accurate. I probably haven't shot a rifle in 4-5 years and i was putting 2-3" groupings on the target. I thought that was amazing, especially for taking it out of the box and shooting.
I really like the ACOGs but they are really pricey. What do ya'll think of the Aimpoint products? |

I have both and I like both! I like the Aimpoint for clearing houses at work, and I like the ACOG for outdoor shooting. You will not go wrong with either, they are quality optics that will last a long time. The ACOG I picked up on the EE, you just have to keep looking for a good price. Congrats on your 6940!!! I had to pick up a second one since I liked it so much. I have a problem when I like a firearm/optic, I have to have at least 2 of them.... And once I shot my 6940, I don't have a need to get any other AR besides a Colt. |

I love reddots, but on an accurate gun, I WANT 4X magged perfection. I would run an ACOG on a 6940 first, second I would run an ACOG with reddot, then I would run an Aimpoint Comp M3 or Micro T1. |

For a little bit less than an ACOG you can go with an Accupoint 1-4x.
It will be a little bit heavier, but you'll get a jack of all trades with the 1-4x. Sure you won't have BDC and you'll have to have better cheek weld, but to go from 3 yards to 350, there isn't a much better option with out going with two sighting systems. I love mine. |
