I recently purchased a 6940 and  I heavily use it for varmit hunting.  The only thing I really dislike is the trigger weight .  I understand that Colt rifles are battle rifles and heavier pulling triggers are almost a must in combat situations.  My question is what triggers are you using for targets, varmits, etc.  I have looked at a couple different ones and just about every local shop I go into they have a different opinon on which is the best..mostly pushing the kind that they sell.  I am also planning on getting a CR 6724 by next fall.  Since they are a accurized rifle will I need to put a different trigger in this also or are they more condusive to match shooting  ?  Thanks in advance

Im not super impressed with the colt cr trigger, its like 8lbs, granted much better than the 6920 trigger....   So I would change them both...
I put the same trigger in 99% of my rifles, I use RRA 2 stage match trigger, there cheap, I can shoot them very well, and they work..  Some say they had problems, but they have a life time warranty and Ive never had a problem with one, and I own 13-15 {something like that}... I set up all of my lowers the same, muscle memory will keep you shooting multiple weapons well....

I also instal KNS 155 anti walk kit with them...  IMO makes it feel even more betta...

There are a lot of SSA guys on here, but I dont see a $100 difference between the rra match and ssa

You will feel the difference when you shoot a SSA.

When my 6933 comes in in 6 months I will have a Geissele S3G trigger for it.

I bought a SG3 from the Geissele booth at SHOT this year and installed it in my 6933 the night I got home.  It is superb.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but you should really consider the Geissele

I've tried many, many triggers over the years, and the Geissele SSA is currently my favorite. I also own two Rock River two-stages, and the few extra bucks for the SSA is worth it. In my opinion, the only other trigger I own that comes close to the SSA is the KAC two-stage.

For a single-stage trigger in a large pin Colt (your 6940 is a small pin), the Colt Match Trigger is decent if you are willing to take the time to make it right. Untweaked, it still has more creep than it should.

For those who have never seen one, here is a single-stage Colt Match Trigger

I guess I better order up a Geiselle trigger.  I will get it for my 6940 now and when I finally have enough saved for a CR 6724 I will be changing that out also. I  watched the installing video and it looks pretty easy to do.
Thanks for all the advice..a little goes along ways on this forum.

Let me know if you have any trouble or need any parts. I have lots of OEM Colt parts on-hand, and I'm always happy to make donation to help out

I love KAC, but I feel the Giesselle is a superior trigger.
Plus it comes in LP for those of us with "non-mil spec" Colts.
