I finally decided on gettting a Strikefire instead of a Aimpoint. I want a good optic but just can't justify 500.00+ After much research I think the new red only Strikefire  sounds lke a real bargin.  My question is that I've heard about all the problems with the lens caps. I plan on getting a flash killer with mine. I noticed there are one's that screw in and ones that come with or without lens caps. I don't know which one to get? If I get the one with lens caps and have a problem with them can I still replace them with Butler Creeks?

I would get the screw in kind personally. The one that is built into the lens cap was really designed for the earliest versions that didn't have filter threading in the objective end. If you want to take the caps off and get Butler Creeks you can still use the thread in kill flash. As to the lens caps themselves, the only problems I'm aware of is that some people find they are hard to close, but we've found that just a tiny bit of silicone grease around the rim makes a world of difference and solves that problem.
