Has anyone else experienced the nickel boron flaking off the bolt carrier on their FX-9 pistol?  The pistol has 60 rounds through it and the coating is flaking on the bottom where it drags on the hammer and on the top where it rubs the upper receiver.  The upper receiver shows no corresponding wear marks.  It was well lubed with SLIP 2000 prior to firing.  Functioning was flawless.  The fire control group is an ALG QMS.  The factory hammer was defective and would not retain the hammer pin so it had to be replaced.

I haven't had the flacking on mine yet (i'll keep an eye on it), my gun only has about 400 rounds so far.

I have a same hammer pin issue and the same BCG damage from the hammer as you do.
The BCG damage has no impact on the firing from what I see.

Did Freedom Ordnance replace the hammer or did you? If you, what hammer did you replace it with?

Freedom Ordnance replaced the BCG group.  They called and said they would send me a new BCG group and I had a choice between another silver nickel boron one or a black nitride one.  They said they couldn't guarantee I wouldn't have the same flaking problem with the nickel boron so I opted for the black nitride.  I haven't had a chance to shoot it since I replaced the BCG.  I see that the photo of the FX-9 pistol on Freedom's website shows a black BCG.  My guess is that they had issues with the nickel boron so they went to the black nitride like they use on the FX-9 rifle.

I replaced the fire control group with an ALG QMS and it worked flawlessly.

Thanks for info...

It seems that Freedom Ordnance customer support is very responsive and keeps the customer happy.

Freedom Ordnance quickly sent me “Anti-Walk Pins” for my hammer walking issue...very responsive support.

I’m very happy with the purchase and support.

Thanks again for the trigger info.
