Shot a local Three gun here today, planned on using my stealth with Irons but some issues came up with out of stock stuff to have the right set up.  So I went with my first starter 3 gun rifle.  It's been good to go for quite a few 3 guns I have shot, and it has done well.  Anyway, it's a Model 1 kit rifle, and it's got a couple 1000 rounds through it but nothing off the charts, I've only had it about 2 years.

Well...........

Holy Freakin Moly Malfunction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The hilarious thing is, I thought I was having double feeds, so I had to have performed immediate action 2-3 times, and Fired It!!  So I didn't notice at first except that there was something wrong cleared it, quickly reloaded engaged again.  So it actually fired with a snapped bolt, cool.

Anyway, Model 1 is Based in Texas so I figured I would Throw this here, since now I want to buy a LT BCG.........  Thought the title would get some attention too.

Yeah, lesson learned, don't try to save money with your kit....  Save money for good kit.

All in all I'm not to bummed, it was my first and it gave me the BRD...

Looks like a cam pin problem might have had something to do with it too.

If you dare, you can ask Costa for a piece of his beard, I head one hair will be all you need to put that bolt back together, just wrap it around the bolt and good as new.

Gorilla glue should fix that up nicely.  Better than new!

Just the fracture point. I've seen a couple like that on M16s in the Armory where cam pins were out of spec or obstructed for whatever reason.
I suspect an overpressure round could also cause such an event or be a factor.

If the cam pin does not function as expected something is going to give, and it's usually going to be the bolt body.
It does not necessarily mean the bolt was bad.

Bolts break sometimes, even good ones.

Don't you dare talk bad about M1 Sales. A no-name mod I've never even heard of before will be along shortly to threaten to ban you for such action. Trust me, BDTD.

How dare you? It was obviously your fault and something you did wrong, like shooting your rifle.

For the record, I'm ditching my M1S crap and buying quality stuff from now on. Did I just type that? I'll probably lose my account now.

Can't imagine why the cam would have hung up.  Factory Federal Gold Medal Match ammo, and everything was clean....  Of course the last 3 gun I did my buddy had a primer sneak into the bcg and find it's way seated on the cam.  The bolt couldn't fully seat in the carrier so the cam stuck out as well.  During the stage he shock charged it and it wouldn't budge.  Where you at sshog..........

Not possible, not even Costa can fuck with his beard.  It is it's own living breathing entity, it chose Costa as a host to spread awesomeness....

I had the EXACT same thing happen at a rifle comp. It was indeed a Mod1sales gun and bolt. I shot them and email and said WTF? They sent me a new bolt free. I would just give them a call or email. While I like the free bolt it serves only as a backup incase of emergencies now.

Model 1 Take a Model 1 bolt and any of the LMT or such bolts and tap it on a hard metal surface and listen to the density! Saw a guy at a gun show do this, it's plain to see and hear.
