Hello,
I have an 18" OBR Lite and have been considering Barrel dimpling. Generally speaking, do you regard this as a positive, or a leave alone kind of thing? Has anyone done this with a Larue barrel and what were your thoughts? Please include pos/neg or anything to worry about if I proceed. Just curious on the general perception of Barrel dimpling. Trying to ensure I don't negatively affect the rifle. Thanks in advance for your opinions/experiences. Happy Holidays K |

I don't think you're going to have any luck with a light barrel. There isn't much meat on a light profile to make any dimples that will both lighten and be visually pleasing. "The Man" to see about dimpling would be Marvin Pitts of Nefarious arms. He's the one that did the KAC barrels back in the day.
ETA: I see you meant "lite" as in 5.56, not barrel profile. Fucking Mondays.
The part that I didn't strike out still applies. He's considered to be the SME on dimpling. |

Ha ha. Yes, Mondays are always rough. Thank you for the POC on dimpling.
I was hoping to hear some first-hand experiences from LT user's that may be able to say if the difference was noticeable and worth it per se. All around great shooter and nothing necessarily needed, just curious. If anyone has experience with a dimpled LT please share your thoughts if you would/wouldn't do it again. Not surprised if no one has gone that route also. Thanks again. K |
