I'm just about ready to call and order a 18" 5.56 OBR and was hoping to get a little help from the pack first.
Is there anything that I should be including in my order now so as to save time / money later on? I'm choosing 5.56 instead of 7.62 because of weapon & ammo cost. I am planning on a stock 18" rifle with Troy flip-up sights. I have access to a 300yd range, and will mostly shoot from a bench. From the start I won't have glass for this rifle - that will be my first accessory purchase after the fact. (no idea on time frame) I have a LaRue/Harris bi-pod combo that I use sometimes with my other rifle. Thoughts / comments / suggestions would all be welcome before I call and embarrass myself trying to order. :) Just want to make sure I do it right the first time. |

Might I suggest a PredatAR since you aren't getting a 7.62 and won't be reaching out further than 500. Save you some money for a good optic... just some food for thought. Carry on. +1 on this. I would love to own the OBR 556, but I did this suggestion, got my 762 OBR and a 556 Pred. In 16" on both. |

Consider getting a sling (and sling adapter) to go with it. Also, if you want a Flash Hider or Muzzle Break, you should get it now as they will put it on for you. Made the same order about a week ago and added the SF muzzle brake, and LT marked troys. Also ordered the harris combo as theree is not one in my kit yet. No idea what I'll do for optics on it at this point. |
