Called in an order on Monday for a LT649T for my heinsoldt magnifier.
I dealt with a CS rep I e-mailed named James and the process could not have been easier. I received my mount and lots of neat swag. I got dillo dust, bumper stickers, and a dillo.. so basically everything but one of those highly coveted ball caps. This was my first order (definitely not my last... especially since I want a hat!) and I the whole experience was great. Is it bad that I'm trying to find other things I "need" to order from Larue for my 9mm AR build ? BRD is bad news!!!! |
Mark I have purchased thousands in gear from you in the last couple of years and I am in the process of my first complete Larue build. You will have to forgive me because it will rest on my Quentin Defense (chatterbox Edition) billet lower til the funds allow me to finish those two projects the correct way but I know the Stealth upper will be more than I expected. Placed my order for a sling and plate Tuesday. UPS is reporting it was delivered at 10 this morning along with another order containing my action block to change out the 7inch rail I got last week. Come on clock MOVE IT!!!! I want to leave and open my packages.

I am not feeling so good right now about my first purchase from LaRue. Aimpoint and mount.
Called Tuesday to check and see if what I wanted was in stock. I was told the Aimpoint model was in stock, no problem. Placed my order 5 minutes after having that conversation with LaRue sales. No tracking number or CC hit so Thursday I emailed sales and asked if it had shipped. No reply. Called this morning and spoke with sales again. They told me they were out of the Aimpoint but had more coming in today and that my order would ship today. Great, no problem. Got an email from James about an hour later saying the sights were out of stock and would not be in to Larue until next Tuesday. I returned his email and asked about what sales had told me about my order shipping today. He told me I was given misinformation and the model Aimpoint I had ordered was in the next Tuesday shipment. I understand anything can happen, but I have been given wrong information now TWICE from LaRue sales. Come on guys. I really want to drink the LaRue koolaid. Was hoping for it this weekend, now I am not sure it will even make it here next weekend. EDIT....Taken care of with James. Thanks for your response 2nd edit.....The information I received from James was incorrect but it had more to do with Aimpoint giving wrong information to LaRue. I wish I would have been told the first 2 times that the Aimpoints were on indefinate backorder. I would have placed the order somewhere else instead of waiting. I did finally get to speak with a very nice lady who took the time to explain the problem they were having with Aimpoint. I ended up getting the Aimpoint from Primary Arms within 3 days and my LT 129 that was ordered on August 3rd came today. |

I would like to first say that I own no LT products; however I have had extensive hands-on experience with various models of scope mounts.
I'm generally not one to 'drink the koolaid' as it has a great tendency to cause blind eyes to pass over problems and inadequacies of product, whether that be in the firearm community or anything else in life. Skepticism and proper discrimination of what the facts are and extensive evaluation are key components to what I do in a professional setting, and that has a propensity to effect many other things, including decisions regarding firearms. I say this in an attempt to give credit to my review and an effort to show that I am not a 'fanboy.' As money is an issue (go go gadget masters degree!), I try to be as deliberate on expensive purchases as possible - so I research. I have had the opportunity to use, install, and examine Larue mounts and many other optics mounts that serve the same purpose as most of Larue's products. Many of my findings are what most of you already know; extremely durable, repeatability, high quality, etc. What I found was that very few mounts from other companies maintain the consistency of quality from one unit of a mount to another, and these inconsistencies are subtle but I imagine will affect the mount's abilities to maintain precision. I saw that the QD locking arms on Larue mounts were quality and very consistent - and more importantly are very obviously not an afterthought to the design; whereas most of the other brands had a loose feel to the hinge points. With my use of other folks' rifles with Larue mounts, I found that repeatability created no perceptible POI shift so long as it was reinstalled properly, while another company's mount on a T-1 Aimpoint (I won't name names but they started with a G & ended with a G ) had an impact shift of just under 4 MOA. Furthermore, I heard no complaints or issues of zero-loss after extensive shooting, including on some long action, high caliber cartridges.
To give a story, my favorite demonstration of a Larue mount was the repeatability of another T-1, which this demo was clearly done multiple times because this poor damn Aimpoint had deep gouges in the housing. This gentleman showed me and some other friends that it would shoot a repeatable group after he removed the optic, threw it about 25 meters into the parking lot of gravel, ran out to it, kicked it around a few times, and then threw it back onto his rifle. Damned if it didn't shoot a group right where the first one was. In closing, I have had an EOtech optic for going on 6 years. I love it, but it's been causing problems and the mounting bracket has sand jammed into the housing - it's time to retire the ole girl. Larue, you folks have earned my business with your quality of optics mounts, and I look forward to sporting your product. And the best part: I get to support a Texas company. |
I just picked up my OBR 556 today. I have an OBR 762 as well. This pair of rifles are the pride of my collection. Just picking one up, I just know it is a quality product. It feels right. I have had nothing but the best customer service from LaRue Tactical. I will recommend their products to anyone and continue to do business with them from now on. I had to place an order earlier today for more stuff.......

I can't say enough about Larue. It is a great company. I had an issue with my cc and they called me immediately to let me know. (stupid cc put a hold on the purchase) Part of my order had to be shipped separately and she let me know right away. I know I will be doing business with them again and again. I can't wait to order my mount for my new aimpoint... Thanks again to TEAM LARUE!!!
Now if they only had their shirts in 3x or 4x I would order one of each

Never bought from LaRue's site before –– I plan to remedy that soon.
I do, however, have some of their amazing products: Index clips and 7" handguard. Top notch. One thing I would like to see is the UDE furniture available separately –– I only want the CTR stock and MOE grip, I don't need a FUG or index clips. |

I've bought magpul products from them, DMR upper, and just today an ACOG, every experience I had has been wonderful. After my first order I called them because I thought they screwed my order up, but the customer service got said they put dillos and bumper stickers in their orders. I've been hooked ever since!

I was recently at the Reno Air Races and had an amazing time. I was sitting in the Chairman's Club tent eating lunch and a man was sitting across from me. He said " You a Larue supporter?" I said " Yes Sir". He proceeded to tell me that he just received his OBR lite, how happy he was with it, and how amazing the customer service and swag from Larue Tactical was. I agree.

I am a pilot, just private & instrument rating, and i had the good fortune of being grounded at an airport at the same time as one of these guys......He was interested in the 530 that was in my Cessna T210, so I let him sit in mine and turn the dials and he let me sit in his !!!! Very neat experience. I think he said it would take him 45 min or something crazy like that to get from where we were in Texas to L.A. Now it's all taildraggers, J-3 Cub, Cessna 180, 450 Stearman

Picked up what I thought was an overpriced VFG, the Larue FUG last week. It came in and all the praise this site gives Larue was totally deserved! The FUG is rock solid and machined to very exacting standards. As well, I got a dillo bottle opener, two bumper stickers and dillo dust with my order too! I didn't realize any of these extras came with it and I am very pleased. I don't feel the product is overpriced and I am the proudest new owner of Larue gear here! Keep up your outstandig business practice!

Ordered a BUIS and some other little stuff while deployed. Along with all the dillo, dust, hat and stickers I was moved by the inclusion of a care package which meant alot ya'll noticed I was deployed just from the 'ship to address' (which some how got to me quicker than anything else shipped there from the homeland). Mark and crew go above and beyond, so I just wanted to give ya'll a public shout out. Best group of folks I've ever done business with! Cheers! W. |

| Is there a policy for parts availability on mounts that are no longer made? I have a couple of LT-124s that were sent back to get new levers (never loan stuff to Rangers) I would happily pay to get new levers installed but upon receiving the mounts I was told that this particular lever is no longer made? Sure there aren't any "old levers" squirreled away in the back somewhere? Thanks |

Mark, just letting you know that Alfred did the Jedi mind trick on me and I couldn't be happier. He helped me out with a lot of stuff over the past couple of months and I have to say he deserves a lot of commendation for his knowledge and patience. My wallet is crying but I'm happy.

| I used to swear by Larue products. On one of the Calendar posts I nicely stated that although the OBR is a nice gun, would it be possible to have something differant. The OBR was on the monthly calender like 3 months straight. I quick recieved a Nasty post from Mark Larue. So they wron't be getting my business in the future. I guess the stories are true. |

Larue along with Daniel Defense are my top two AR-15 parts makers by about a light year! Love you Larue!
One constructive feedback talking point however: I notice that the Larue / SMOS lower and the Laure Stealth upper, well at lease the two pairs that I have anyway, do not have matching lines. The CNC toolpaths just don't seem to line up, in some spots they are off by a solid 1/8th of an inch. Hoping to see this corrected in the future, that's all. Again, Larue you are the shit! |

You all are the best customer oriented group of "friends" in the business! Amazing customer service, friendly folks, some sweeeeet equipment. Not only was I impressed with the SOPs that you all have in effect towards customer relations, but you all have impressed my wife enough to let me indulge in a Stealth upper soon. Just from Alfred dealing with her, she went back and ordered 5 new t-shirts so we can show our support and continue to spread the word. Over here in Iraq, I have taken it upon myself to spread the praises and name of Mark LaRue and LaRue Tactical. Some what of a "LaRue Ambad-ass-ador" to my fellow GBs. Thank you for all you do to support us. And while we are doing our thing over here, make sure to knock back an ice cold SHINER for me. Placed my first order with Larue last week, I ordered a LT150 for my Doublestar. I am beyond extremely pleased with the mount, (after all it's larue) but I was surprised at all the extra goodies that they sent with it. I've heard of the swag they lovingly place into your packages but you have to experience it to believe it! Not only did it ship the same day, I received the 2010 xmas dillo, a 45 opener dillo, dillo dust,bumper stickers, and a copy of the constitution. I'm not one to drink coolaid....... but I'm digging the flavor!!!! LARUE FOR LIFE!!!!!

I know I am late to the show here... I received the custom 'dillos' the day before thanksgiving, and here is the kicker.. I ordered it the previous monday.. So it was hot from the lasers, since it was ordered less than 48 hours from me receiving it. And I am stationed at Ft. Campbell, so it crossed some distance too..
I have always been impressed with the customer service there.. It was always a pleasure to do business with LaRue/Austin Precision. Now I think I have to order some more custom 'dillos' since I made a small run of dillos for the zumba instructors..I think I was mobbed.. I am intending to place another order of custom dillos as soon as the other run is complete.. And I can honestly recommend Larue/Austin Precision to total strangers on the street.. I mean stop them and tell them the great service they can get in Leander, TX. Shows that if you take care of the customer, they will take care of you.. ***EDIT ––- Forgot to add in the custom dillo I ordered.. This isn't the zumba dillo... it is gonna be on another thread... But this picture has the motto of NSW, which can also describe Austin Precision...
