Steve,

I have been buying from RRA for many years and at last count, approaching $12,000 worth of purchases, for an individual, this is not bad...

Called last week for some help on a 1911 and for the first time (OMG), got the run around and blank stares over the phone???

Please tell me RRA is still small enough to give the service we all expect or are you getting too big...

Why post such a generic and potentially damaging statement with no backup?  Do you feel entitled to do so because you supposedly bought 12K worth of RRA stuff?
If you're going to post publicly, at least have some specifics to back up your statement and some sort of evidence that RRA has given you "the runaround". This is, of course, AFTER you've addressed this through IM privately with Steve first, which I suspect you haven't done. I think it would have been the courteous and respectful way to approach the issue.

The vast majority of our sales/business is the LAR-15 rifle.  While we try to get everyone conversant in all of our products, we only have so many people who can help beyond the basics with the 1911s...and most of them are in the pistol shop.  If they're blueing, prepping for blueing, etc...they generally can't take calls.  Ul;anda in our Sales Dept. is generally your best bet for someone to talk to first.  If it isn't something she can answer/do for you. she'll follow up as quickly as possible with the shop to get an answer, and will get back with you.
I'm sorry that you feel lie you got a runaround, but without any kind of additional info, all I can do is apologize if that's how it frlt to you.

F150 You are correct, I should have IM'ed Steve first....My fault, this is not like me to do this....

Had a bad week at work when I wrote this....this is not typical, could have been a bad week for the RRA staff.

RRA staff is great....I with draw my comment.

Also the $12K is not meaning I am special....that too is not me, I am just the opposite, I help peoiple all of the time with their gun troubles and issues, I gave out over 10 guns to my friends during Katrina for protection, I am not special....by no stretch of the immagination, I am just implying that if there are 10 people like me, that is a chunk of change.

Not a big deal.  I have bad days that last several weeks.
I certainly didn't take offense to what you said...as busy as we are, we sometimes don't come across as well as we might otherwise.
Did you ever get an answer/whatever info it was that you needed?

Steve,

I did not get a reply.  What I was looking for is I have a RRA Standard Match 1911, you do not catalog it an more....It was your basic pistol with front strap serrations and a Bomar rear sight.  Purchased in 2001...this one pistol is what won me over as a RRA customer....I purchased it sight unseen, never held one and plunked down $1300 for it...and whe it came in , WOW!!!  This is one fine pistol the finest I have ever seen, shot or what ever....

I asked if I could send the pistol in and have a Commander length slide fit to the frame with a Novak Low Mount style sight installed.

What I am thinking about doing now is ordering your Tactical in 4" bbl length...

What is the turnaround time for a pistol these days?

Thanks,

Richard

Turnaround time is approximately 4-6 months...but a lot has to do withthe finish on the pistol, with both "T" and hard chrome taking longer than either phosphate or blue.
The shortest we're running is 4.25", and that normally has a milled-back dust cover on the frame to look "right".
