I’m pairing down the heard, I have a few older le 6920 uppers(C MP marked barrels, c stamped carriers, c stamped uppers, etc) that I want to sell to fund my back to school/career change endeavor. The barrels are dated between 2009 and 2014, and condition varies to from like new to used but not abused. Would I be better selling these as complete uppers or would I likely be able to make more by parting them out? Normally I wouldn’t go through the hassle but since I’m trying to maximize return as opposed to fund another gun, figured I would ask the experts here. Thanks! |

If you really want to help convince a prospective buyer that they are 'like new' - Invest in an inexpensive bore scope and post pictures of the gas port from the inside in your listings. If a gun is very well 'cared for' it is not hard at all to have the outside of it appear to be in 'new' condition even IF the barrel has had thousands of rounds down the pipe. A borescope picture of that gas port will show for certain if a barrel is unfired, has only seen a few hundred rounds (or less), OR has seen a few thousand rounds sent down the pipe regardless of how nice the outside of it looks. That finish on the outside of a barrel can be 'touched up' fairly easily to show less wear - No way in hell to do that (hide wear) with a gas port from the inside.   |
