It looks like the rail's 2 pieces bolt together and are secured to the receiver by the Delta Ring
Is the front of the rail supported by anything ? |

They are not supported by the delta ring. They slip over the barrel nut and then 4 set screws tighten down to hold it secure. The front is not touching anything, it free floats. I was a little skeptical at first until I found out how it attaches. Everything I read says they are very secure in the way they attach. I don't have one yet but I will be getting one soon.
