Hi,

I bought a couple RRA stipped receivers a few years ago. I used one receiver immediately. I had no problems doing the build on the first receiver. I just recently got around to building up the second receiver. It is out of spec in the area around the rear take down pin. I've tried several known working uppers on the second RRA receiver. I can't get the rear of the upper to seat on this lower. All of these uppers work flawlessly on the first RRA receiver. The receiver SN is 771XX. How do I go about getting this fixed?

Thanks!

I see no one is answering, so allow me.  I had a RRA lower OOS as well.  Called them and they issued a call tag, examined it, sent me a replacement.

All on their dime and pretty fast as well.

Hey - make a million widgets and you'll get a few bad ones.  They are good people and will take care of you pronto.

Thanks for the info. I guess RRA doesn't check this forum very often. I'll give them a call this week. Sounds like their customer service is good so I should be ok... that's good news!

Rock never checks this forum anymore - they are to busy working on the LAR-40 or the LAR-338 - hopefully

ETA - or the LAR-22

I'm wondering if this is why my upper  is hard to mate to the lower. The pivot pin goes in nice, but the take down pin has to be pushed in real hard to go a little over halfway and would have to be driven in somewhat to go all the way and have to be driven back out.  I don't know if there is anything I can do to help this or if I have to send the lower back. The lower is new, but I didn't buy it from RRA.  I dont have another lower or upper to make sure which it is though.

Any advice?  Will I have to pay a transfer fee to have it sent back to me? Or how does that work?

You can lube it and it may wear enough over time so that it goesw in easily.  I have a few that are TIGHT and truth be told, I like them that way.

OK - if you send it back, they issue a call tag - and away it goes.  Upon return it comes directly to you.  No transfer took place when you sent it for repair, so no transfer is required to have it sent back to you.

Just imagine I buy a rifle at XYZ store and have issues - I mail it back to ABC manufacturing, they fix my firearm and return it to me.

Thanks.  I pushed real hard and it went all the way in this time but had to be driven back out.  I actually am more concerned with having to wait who knows how long to get it back than I am paying a a transfer fee or any shipping charges.

If the little bit off you see in the pictures isn't a worry then I might not worry about it.

I have one like that ona  6.8 - I use a golf tee to push it out.

To each their own - hey if it's gonna bother you, ask them to issue a call tag.  As far as the rest of the LPK, did it all go together OK?

I haven't put the LPK in yet, was just checking the fitment.  I guess as long as that goes ok I might not worry about it.  Have any idea what kind of turn around times they have if I have to go this route?

Mine was about 10 days tops.  Probably closer to 7 days IIRC.

How would they fix it? Wouldn't they have to replace it?

Yes they would replace it. You do not need a FFL to send a gun to a manufacturer for repair/replacement.

Amen - all I had to do was to notify MS State Police that the serial # on my regulated weapon had changed - and actually I could have gotten away with not doing that, but I am 100% above board, legal and plan on staying that way.

*edit: Hopefully it will be ok. It seems a tiny bit better after putting some more oil on the pin and working it some.  It now goes in 3/4 of the way not too bad and only real tight on the last bit it seems.  I think I will go ahead and assemble the lower and make sure everything else is ok and in spec and go from there. if it has to go in, then I guess I'll just have to wait and get it all done right.

thanks everyone
