Hey Steve,

Do we have any more recent updates on the PDS conversion uppers?  Last I had heard it was supposed to be spring but I don't remember if that was official or just speculation.

FWIW - I would have bought a complete pistol already but wonderful NY state law says I can't.  Fortunately I have a Pre-ban Pistol that I can slap one of the PDS uppers on! :D

Any ETA would be wicked!

Thanks!

OST.

A PDS pistol with an upper I can throw on my SBR lower would be really really sweet.

We've always talked about this winter...whether that's the end of this year or early in next year I don't know yet.  It isn't as easy as it sounds...but preserving the lower is the primary concern (and reason we can't use a standard lower in the PDS as is).  We don't want you guys getting conversions that then pretty much destroy your irreplaceable lowers.

Thanks for the info.

It will be a fun toy.

No hurry, just glad yall are still kicking it around.

Gotcha, is the leverage or pressure higher than normal??

No...it's a matter of the impact of the abbreviated carrier on the rebound buffer in the back of the receiver.  Teh current model uses a proprietary buffer that's solid where the receiver extension would normally go to give that rebound buffer something to solidly mount to.  We used a standard lower initially, but had lower receiver wear/stress issues with hard use.

Steve,

I Gotcha, I found a few pics of the system's guts last night(nothing detailed but simple breakdown) and can see that while somewhat similar, it does operate considerably different than the old OLY system as well as the Z gun or whatever that one AR15.com side folder was called.

I guess this is why greater minds than mine are working on it

Best of luck getting them developed!!!  I'll be watching with great interest!!!

We're working on it from a couple of new angles that came about from some of our other PDS work.  Looks very promising.

Incidentally I was just thinking about these again.

Thinking I'd like the carbine either instead or in addition to, but again, would need it to be a "conversion" kit thanks to the lovely NY AWB.

Got a preban lower sitting here and waiting

A PDS pistol would be nice.

A PDS pistol with a conversion kit so I can use the upper with my SBR lower would be freaking awesome!

Once yall get it worked out, sell a combo pistol kit with conversion for SBR lowers and I imagine you will sell a bunch.

So, bump to keep this thread up.

The kit I envision would be the conversion upper, whatever componnets are necesary to make it work on a standard lower, and the folding stock kit.
We've made some progress on the kit, and are approaching it from two different angles.  Either will work, but one is ultimately going to do better in the testing and we'll end up with that one.

Well if your looking for field testers, you let me know

Seriously looking forward to what you guys come up with.

I would have bought one of the carbines already except the fact I am in NY so any telescoping or folding stocks need to be on preban AR lowers.

My first AR was a RRA and it seems like in the last few years you guys have been rocking new ideas one after another!

Your recent 7.62x39 carbine that runs the AK mags is awesome!!
