Will the PDS pistol upper fit a standard Lar-15 lower?
If so can the upper be purchased separate? I'm waiting( 6 months now) on an SBR tax stamp and think this combo would be the coolest SBR ever. Thanks, Ted |

Physically it would fit on to, but isn't compatible with, a standard lower.
The PDS lower is very, very similar to a regular LAR-15 lower, but there is no through-hole for the receiver extension to thread into. The PDS's lower is solid in the back because the recoil bumper attaches to that area of the lower. Originally the intent was to use an insert in a standard lower, but that didn't work out as the manner in which the system works will eventually damage the lower...it took a lot of rounds in testing to get there, but each test of several differently -equipped models all , eventually, damaged the lower. We've come back to it several times, but each concept (so far) has had nearly identical results. We do offer PDS SBRs as complete builds If that is of interest. Steve/RRA |

Yeah, about once a year I drop in here to see if this has been overcome yet... And still no dice. You'd think if we could put a man on the moon we could get this done, but it looks like it's gonna be another year... It hasn't been the highest priority. We started the PDS project with the premise of using standard lowers, but several thousand rounds into each lower, bad things happen. Just shooting 2-4 thousand rounds to get to the point where issues start to occur is a process all unto itself, with documentation, measurements, etc...And you have to do it each time you are trying something new or different.
