Would like to thank PSA for their stellar parts.  Took a buffer tube off a completed lower I received from them and was greeted with this.  I sure hope my others aren't like this.  Glad your installers assemble with care

owch. i've never seen that bad of a detent spring... that is pretty badly mangled.

Sorry about the inconvenience.

That spring was not installed that way.  In fact, it cannot be installed in that condition.  It looks like it got caught by the latch plate as it was assembled.  It is not hard to do.  Unfortunately, spring is hard to QC.  It can't be seen unless dis-assembled, and unless the detent is loose on the rear takedown pin, there is no evidence of a problem to warrant a disassembly.  We will follow up with assembly, though.  There should be a assembly name/code on the sticker - please let us know who it was so we can correct the right person.

IM us your order number and we will send you a new spring and castle nut.
