Im going to remove the A2 hider from my M4A1 upper and would like to know if it is just silver solder holding it on or if there is a pin somewhere on the flashhider that I should drill out as well.  I want to throw on a DD RIS II M4A1 FSP handguard and need to pull the A2 flash hider and FSB, flash hider will be replaced with a KAC QD flash hider and permanently reattached.

check the 6:00 position for a dimple or some slight discoloration.
if so, then its pinned.  If not, then its prolly' soldered.

I already did and it looks like its never been touched, whereas my LWRC the pin is clearly visible.  Im gonna take a torch to it tonight and see if it comes off.

Hiders are blind pinned and welded on the bottom.

Thanks for the response, compared to the pin and weld on my LWRC rifle you guys did an outstanding job.  I'll cut it off and clean up the threads once the KAC QD hider and the DD rail show up.
