Picked up my new NDS-18 lower receiver

I got up to my FFL's store and picked up the NDS-18 receiver that I ordered last week.

I don't have a camera to post a picture but it looks to be extremely well made and the dimensions are right on the money.

I ordered the Stormwerkz adapter that is made to mate up with it and I am now ready to replace my original polymer lower in the near future.

I really like the dark finish on this new receiver. I would recommend one of these to any AR-180B owner that has broken off the front hinges on their original polymer lower.

Polymers are good for some things, BUT there are times when you need a metal-fabricated part. This is one of those times.

Ordered my NDS-18S lower receiver today; it'll head off to my FFL in Grand Forks where I'll pick it up when I finish my TDY to Maxwell AFB. Looking forward to it!

I got in my Armalite AR-180B NoDak Spud Receiver yesterday and switched-over the parts with no issues. I used a Tango Down Battle Grip as it best approximated the shape of the OEM grip without the annoying sling swivel in the way.

The receiver is a very nice product and shipped quickly. Kudos to NoDak Spud.

I installed a VZ-58 side folding stock on it and it went one with just grinding the tab a bit. They made a very nice rubber pad for it that is both secure and takes care of any stock to receiver wear.

I also wanted to be able to use the OEM stock but there was no way to install it securely the way it was. Stormwerks to the rescue!

They make a stock adaptor as part of a three-piece side folder set-up so I just ordered the adaptor, drilled out the threads, installed a pin to keep it from rotating, installed it with a longer 3.25" bolt and it was GTG.

While .25" does not seem like much it really helped with the OAL and gave me a place to D&T a hole for a side swivel to mate-up with one I installed in the meaty part of the upper hand-guard. I made a contoured plate for the inside of the HG and D&Ted it to fit the 10-32 sling screw.
