Did a match today and used a Gen2 Pmag with a window and had a double feed. First time ever I had that happen with a Pmag. Pmags have always been the most reliable mag I have ever had. Just was shocked by what happened. Any opinions or thoughts on Pmags and how to store them loaded? Should I use them constantly and switch them out (I only do a shoot once a month if I am lucky)? I like to have a few loaded for home defense and for the occasion run out the door predator hunting.

Not enough info here for any good conclusions from me.
How many rounds through the mag?
Lips worndown?
Mag clean?
Gun clean?
Sure it was properly seated (how many rounds fired before the double feed)?
Anything obvious when/if you tore it down after the fact?
Where you in some sort of alt shooting position?

Is very strange but the AR platform likes to do it more than most...

As stated by the post above. There are many possible causes of double feeds. Mark the magazine and note the ammo. If it reoccurs start isolating the problem by switching out items.

If you positively ID the mag as the culprit give us a call and we will deal with it. No special handling/ storage is needed with PMags so just run them as you would any other magazine.

Weapon I was using was a 10.5" SBR (With no can).
Weapon was clean and has not had any issues in the past.
Pmag had 30rds in it
PMC 223 55gr ammunition
The mag seemed to fit in fine when I fed it, but it did sit in the range bag since the last match I did in Sept with 28rds in it. Which is why I was wondering if maybe the springs were damaged during that period of being compressed.

I ran about 5 Pmags and one Colt mag during that competition and that mag was the only one that had the issue. I have video of it from a GoPro that i am trying to upload onto Photobucket, but my internet sucks.

You guys make great products and I will try and see if it happens again. Might have been dropped in the dirt or something at some point in time. Do you guys suggest a time limit on how long the mag should be loaded for before changing it out?

What kind of double feed? Two live rounds? Or a spent case not fully ejected and a live round?

You should be able to leave that mag loaded for years, it is the constant cycling that will wear out the spring
