The most important reason I like the MBUS Pro is precisely because they don't have any push button spring deployment. Being made completely of metal isn't important. I'm glad they made a new Gen 3 version of the polymer MBUS where the button is only on the front and removed the side wings. Those side wings got in the way of certain flashlight configurations I wanted to do so I had to cut them off. But I don't see the need for a push button spring deployment mechanism on backup irons at all. That always seemed like a strange feature to add. And obviously it can't be that important if it wasn't added to the more expensive premium Pro version. So a polymer affordable flipup sight that gets rid of the button and spring and you just pull it up and down like with the Pro would be neat. Admittedly I wouldn't be buying them myself anytime soon because I still own my old Gen 2 MBUS sets that still work fine. But if I ever was back in the market for flip up irons in a few years from now, that's the sort of product I would find ideal if available. Otherwise I'd just buy the Gen 3 MBUS that at least eliminated those side wings. |
