For all those who want a poor-boy but Larue is out, and those who already have the Hensoldt. I did a reticle removal how-to in the optics/mounts section. Enjoy!

I got a stupid question.

Why would you want to mount a $14 scope on a $150 mount?  Isn't that kind of counterproductive?  Why not just buy a quality Aimpoint Magnifier clone and mount it?  Am I missing something?

That scope, when new was alot more than $200. Hensoldt makes some very killer optics. Now that they are surplus they are very affordable. An EXTREEMLY cheap way to see if you want a flip style optic.

Just broke down and got 2 from CTD, even though I can't stand their sales approach.

Some people just want to try a magnifier to see if it does what they want before spending 500.00 for the Aimpoint unit.
Some have posted here that after getting one it spends more time off the rifle than on.
I plan on getting the cheap one just to try the whole concept out.  Even if I like it I don't think I would spend 500.00 for the
Aimpoint magnifier.

Because "quality" and "clone" do not go hand in hand.  Not to mention you are supporting some overseas counterfeiting operation.
