I'm hoping that this is a good place to post this message... I have a pre-ban AR15 that I bought new in about 1991. I'm wondering what information I can find out about it. I checked out the link listed and the model is there. I was wondering how I might be able to get a price estimation for it.

The info on the AR is...
Colt Sporter Match HBAR
SN MH 023xxx

Barrel also has CMP 556 NATO 1/7 HBAR on it.

The strange thing is that nowhere on it does it give a model # or even say AR-15! Any suggestions?

Search the _completed_ auctions on Gunbroker or Auction Arms.  I say completed because there seems to be a big spread between asking prices and selling prices at the moment.

What you own is a model R6601. Manufactured in the early 90's it went thru several evolutions. Yours being one of the early versions. Great weapon but due to the Kali law's of 89 that prevented Colt for being able to compete on an open playing field, they had to adapt. And they did. 'cuase you got one. Dropping 2 letters and 2 numbers allowed them to start reselling to the Kali klan again. But with some really dumb additions. Or should I say "Ommisions"?

'nough said.

Does it have a mag fence (raised area around the mag release button)?

Large or small hole front take down pin?

If small, is it drilled for the standard take down pin?
