Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been on here, looks like my arfcom membership ran out at some point. I've been thoroughly enjoying my PredatAR 5.56, but I've had one issue. I tried using a Magpul BAD lever and it just didn't work at all. Because of the way the upper is made, the back clasp of the Magpul BAD lever interferes with it and forces the BCG to get caught on the bolt catch. Does anyone have a suggestion on which one works best with these rifles? I know Magpul, Tactical Link, Troy, and Phase Five make clamp on devices, and Phase Five makes one that completely swaps out with the paddle. I'd prefer to just clamp it, just for ease of use. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?

Bonus for looking, how my LaRue looks currently:

And in a line up with a selection of ARs from the Pistol and Rifle Club at Virginia Tech:

That's strange. I've had a Magpul BAD lever one on my tAR since I got it over a year ago and I know 2 others that have them on their tAR's as well with 0 malfunctions.

It is weird, I've heard of other PredatAR users having success with it, but no matter how I try it, it interferes with the PredatAR. First range day I brought it out to, it jammed the AR. I ran it flawlessly on my old AR, but I have no idea what's wrong with mine. Maybe I have an older generation lever? If they even made newer generation ones?

Yep, I put a Magpul BAD on my 556 tAR a couple months ago and it's worked fine. Zero issues. It rubs a teeny tiny bit on the inside of the trigger well but doesn't affect functionality at all. Sorry you're having issues with yours.

Nice looking stick.

The bonus is, they make one for DPMS LR .308 that works perfectly on the OBR Heavy.  I've put about 500 rounds down ranges with it attached and I haven't had a problem yet.  It's very responsive and locks the bolt back on the last round every time.

The thing that became immediately apparent when comparing it to the Magpul BAD is that there is MUCH less perceivable "wobble" when your finger touches the lever.  I am 99% sure this is due to the Magpul lever is a two-piece design, clamping onto the original bolt catch, and the Phase 5 is a monolithic part that you have to install separate from the original.

Thanks for the help guys, I think I may have to try using my BAD again... could be something to do on my end. Weird that it's giving me so many issues. If it doesn't work, I may end up getting the phase five and just swap out the paddle completely.
