I just received the TX-4 head with MC2 adapter for my Surefire 6P. I put it together and...nothing.
I tried a total of 3 SETs of new batteries (Surefire brand) and still no light. What does happen, after only about 10 seconds, is the tail cap becomes extremely hot. I quickly removed the batteries, which were so scorching I couldn't pick them up. Now I'm not a smart man, so I double checked how I put the adapter together and it is the same as the picture. I tried it again on my Surefire Z2 with the same results. Anyone else having similar problems? |

Yes Vic, you did reply almost immediately to my email and I am very appreciative of your customer support. I'll be shipping the TX-4 head and my flashlight, as you instructed, to San Francisco ASAP.
I was just curious if anyone else had a similar issue and could speak further to what the problem or fix was. |

Well, here's the update.
I took the TX-4, attached to my Surefire Z2, to work and tried several more sets of batteries off our truck with the same results. Leaving it in the same assembled configuration, minus the batteries because I was worried about the possible heat, I shipped it all off to San Francisco. After it had arrived, Vic called me and left a voice mail stating they put batteries in and it worked fine. Very confused, I sent him an email thanking him for the quick update and waited for the light to return. When it arrived, it had a set of batteries installed (which was nice...thanks) and it worked. I tried all three sets of batteries I had originally tried and they also worked...??? very odd... If there was no technical problem apparently there was some type of operator error, but I'm not sure what that was. Anyway, the light is great; I'm very pleased with the product as well as TNVC's customer service. |
