I know SWFA is a site sponsor and that they have some good deals. But here is the problem that I think everyone should be aware of since allot of us on this site use the Aimpoint sites.
Two weeks ago I purchased a ML2 from SWFA for 299.95 and it included the free spare battery carrier and an extra battery for that price. I called today to order another ML2 and I was told that the price would be 338.95 and that included the free spare battery carrier and spare battery or I could purchase just the ML2 for 299.95. I told the young lady that I had just purchased the same outfit for 299.95 a week ago. She talked to her boss and came back and said that they could sell me the ML2 without the spare battery and carrier for 299.95 but that if I wanted the spare carrier and battery it would be 338.95. The problem is that SWFA advertises on this site and on their site that the spare carrier and battery are free. It does not appear to be free to me in fact if I would have ordered the ML2 without the free? carrier and battery for 299.95 and then ordered the battery for 5.95 and spare carrier for 27.95 the price would have been 333.85 instead of the 338.95. I would have saved 5.10 . The biggest thing that I dislike about this is the fact that SWFA is advertising the carrier and battery as free, not good! I have been a customer of SWFA for over eight years and I have spent about 4500.00 with them and have been happy with them until now. When I talked to the sales girl all she would say is that is just the way it is and I know it does not make sense. SWFA would you care to explain this to us since I am sure that there are several members of this board that have purchased these Aimpoints from you.

Since we have allot of lock happy moderators on this site I am starting a new thread on this misunderstanding with SWFA.

Chris of SWFA I want you to understand that this out of control misunderstanding as you termed it in another thread was caused by SWFA. If the price for the older ML2 was $299.00 and did not apply to the new one then on 11-15-02 when I called twice I should not have been told both times that if I wanted only the ML2 I could have it for $299.95 without the accessories. I should have been advised that the price was $338.95 period! Do you get it?? Since ArmyInf is selling new ML2s on this site for 299.99 the totality of the circumstances indicated to me that the price of the ML2 is $299.99. So will you meet his advertised price and include the FREE accessories or what? Something else that would have helped eliminate this situation is that the male that was chewing on the sales girl ass should have picked up the phone and spoke to me. Instead he had her so shook up she was about to cry or was crying.

Something I did not include in my post was my experience with SWFA three weeks prior to this one. I ordered an EOtech 551 from you and was told that you did not have any in stock. I was assured you would with in a few days. I back ordered the scope from you and guess what? After thee weeks I called and you don’t have any record of my back order and the EOtechs have not arrived anyhow and you don’t know when you will get them. After about an hour your sales girl tells me she finally did find my back order, but she did not know when you would get the EOtech.

Your customer service and written response to me remind me of RGuns attitude. In my post I stated that I spent about 4500.0 with you in eight years. I was wrong I have spent a little more than that. That is for my personal use. I have also recommended you too many people. I am very actively involved in the shooting sports in my area and at the NRA Whittington center. I also do allot of gunsmithing. I am also the area representative for the Colorado State Shooters Association I represent the South East Quadrant of Colorado except for Colorado Springs and Lamar. I also teach classes to LEO's in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Needless to say I feel that your response was wrong, out of line and a very piss poor demonstration of customer service and has made a bad situation worse. I am a fairly understanding person if you would have explained this to me on 11-15-02 or would have replied in a proper manner on this site you would still have a customer that has spent a considerable amount of money with you and has referred thousands of other peoples dollars to you. Instead I am sure that you have a good idea of what type of recommendations I will be giving SWFA now. I am also going to email you with a personal message and my phone number; I hope you have the courage to call me.

Move on Shooter505, the best way to show your dissatisfaction it to use someone else.  Quite bitching and moaning.  Did you get a good deal?  Did you get good deals in the past?  My guess is yes.  Now STFU and move on.

What kind of balderdash is this?  Color me confused, but I thought this WAS the proper place to discuss issues, even the negative ones.  Is that not the purpose of these forums?  Shooter505 has a legitimate gripe which I concur requres attention.  This is none of your business & you're out of line.  If you've nothing constructive to add keep your mouth shut.
I myself have had good service from SWFA in the past, but the past is just that & I also have a problem NOW.  I recently ordered one of the new EOTechs, model # 512.A65.  Their website still clearly states "FREE Neoprene Protective Cover & FREE S&H w/Purchase ($30.00 Value)".  When I received the automatic e-mail confirmation, I noticed I was charged for shipping.  No big deal, I thought, I'll just shoot them a quick e-mail & bring THEIR mistake to their attention & they'll rectify the situation.  Wrong.  The e-mail response I got from them (not Chris, I'll add) stated that that was only for a limited time & no longer applied.  Huh?  No longer applies?  I'm sorry, but I'm from the old school where you honor your word & if it says it they should stand by it, or update the ad.  Period.
Now, what say you, Chris?  (& please no further inane comments from the peanut gallery.)

Spider,

That ones my fault.  When I added the new model EOTech I forgot to program the shopping cart for FREE shipping.  It is fixed now.  Sorry for the confusion.  Talk about bad timing to have something free not be free.

People would not buy from SWFA if they could find the same item some ware else for less.

I can see that there have been some misunderstandings and problems solved. What I don’t understand is why some people simply seam to want to trash the reputation of a first class retailer.

If you have a problem with SWFA contact them and if you don’t get satisfaction ask to talk to the owner or email him but don’t make one of the best retailers in the industry who helps support this fine site into a crook.

Mr Shooter,

I should have been advised that the price was $338.95 period!
I agree 100%.  This is the problem.

So will you meet his advertised price (armyinf) ($299.95) and include the FREE accessories or what?
No, as previously stated, we lose money doing that.  But you could ask us to price match any competitor that stocks the product and get the $299.95 price with out the accessories then buy the accessories and come out a little cheaper.

...you have a good idea of what type of recommendations I will be giving SWFA now. I am also going to email you with a personal message and my phone number; I hope you have the courage to call me.
What could you possibly have to say to me over the phone that:
1. You have not already said here?
2. Would change either of our minds?
3. Would require me to be courageous?

IF you want to speak with me then call anytime from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Central Standard Time at 972-Scope-It

I am now done with this.  I have nothing else to say.  I do apologize for any misunderstandings and or problems you encountered with our company.

Have a nice day,
Chris Farris

Well Chris this situation just gets worse. You see I am a pretty understanding person and I have been along time customer of yours so I went ahead and ordered the Aimpoint from you on Friday for 338.95 . UPS just delivered my package. My Aimpoint was there and the rest of my order was there but guess what? No spare battery and no spare battery carrier, WHY?? Since you dont want to call me or email me do you want me to continue to resolve this on this open forum??

Shooter:

First let me say that I may or may not agree with anything or everything SWFA has said, however this is where I draw the line before I think you are being silly.

If your order is wrong then you need to call and tell them so.  He has no obligation to call you.

If you get a wrong pizza delivered you call back to the shop that made it right -- or should the manager call all the 75 people he delivers to in the hour to make sure they got the best service and best pizza?

Come on now...you are just dragging this out.

Point taken, but realize this is the third location for this issue.   SWFA explained in another post.  You notice I was the third post.  I should have typed the url to the other two posts.  My post is in regards to the other two in play.  There was a misunderstanding, not an intent to defraud.  One post is an inquiry, three is extortion.

It does not matter to me where we resolve your latest issue.  But sometime I will need your name and address to pull the order up.

IM it to me or e-mail it to [email protected] and I will investigate your latest issue.

Thanks,
Chris
