| This is probably a really easy question, but I just wanted to make sure. What is that little green bottle that is recieved with the LT104 scope mounts? Is that lube? Please take it easy on me, I'm new to the AR and Larue for that matter. |
It's thread locker for the screws. Just apply a small ammount on the threads before installing. Is it blue or green? the color will make a difference when you go to take it apart. When I installed my 3x in the flip mount, Depth wise, I dabed the same width of the screw's diameter into the locker for coverage. It also prevents galling and corrosion in the the threads. Good stuff! Wes |
I'd put it on the threads. Assuming you haven't zeroed, Just take the screws out all at a time, apply the thread locker and re-tq them down in an even pattern. If you've zeroed and don't want to lose zero, then take them out one at a time, apply the thread locker, reinstall before you remove the next one but not quite as tight as would when you call it "good enough", then move onto the next one, and continue until you have them to the point where all you need to do is snug them up and do it in an even distributing pattern(x/* patterns).
