I am working on a Winchester Model 12 project that requires a barrel to be shortened.
You can obviously shorten it (18.5 inches), but can you also re-install the bead? 
All model 12s were takedown. I'd prefer not to dismount the barrel. Will the rear trunion interfere with the cut down operation?

Cool. The takedown threads are fine, and seem delicate. Is there a risk of it being chucked into something that will damage them?
I've had threading done before, but that an easy choice to make on the web site. I'm not seeing what I'd have to select to do what I want... |
