| So, what's the advantage of the RAT stock being able to be easily removed? Is it for some rod or something I keep hearing about? Does anyone have any info on it? There was a SHOT flyer posted at some point, but I can't find it any longer. |

I love 99% of what Larue makes, and I hate to say it, but I think I'd rather have a magpul CTR or UBR.... Maybe it just needs to grow on me, the thing just looks odd... Now the new Grip, I have no problems with and would like to palm it and try it out... I agree with this completely. |

My biggest concern is the trigger mechanism. Pretty much every other stock on the market uses a lever that you squeeze. My method for adjusting is to keep my strong hand on the gun, reach back with my weak hand, sqeeze the lever with my thumb, with my fingers over the top of the stock, then pull rearward. I'm not sure how easy adjusting the stock will be without unshouldering your rifle using the RAT.
An additional concern with the trigger is that the same motions and movement that you use to adjust the stock is basically the same to remove the stock completely. I don't really see the advantage of a "quick remove" feature on the stock." A little too much adrenelin on the RAT trigger, and it seems like you could wind up holding the stock in your hand. Like you, I'm reserving actual judgement until I recieve the stock. |

For me and my use, that is not really an issue.
In the time I have had my AR (only 1.5 years) I have had to adjust the stock length 0 times while actually shooting. Only time I adjust mine is taking it in and out of the case. Like I said, that is just me. If you needed to adjust stock length in the middle of a firefight, then I could see this being an issue. But I think if I ever was returning fire, my mind would stop at "Shoot Back" and never make it to "Adjust my stock length" |

With a pack, without a pack, with a coat, jacket, or t-shirt, standing, sitting, or prone. You can always make do, but I can adjust my stock, so I try to take advantage of that. |

I really only shoot once a month at the local 3 gun match, so my needs are a but different. If I carried my AR daily, I could def see the concern. Please don't mistake me for someone who carries their AR daily, I just use it for different things, and in Texas, you wind up with a jacket on in the morning, then stripped down to a t-shirt in the afternoon. I kinda wish they had designed it with more of a bag-ridin' profile on the bottom of the stock... That's something that kind of stumped me. They make the RISR and the POD for the CTR, but when their own stock comes out, nada... |
