RRA barrel code list. (Page 2 of 3)
| Question for the RR Rep? I just bought an upper and was looking for the markings but could not find anything that represented it as a Rock River upper except for the "key hole" type brand behind the forward assist. I took the handguards off and could not find anything, is there anywhere else I could look? The bolt also had the initials MPF on it? I am guessing this was prior owners initials? Any help would be appreciated, thanks |

| Bought a RRA upper off of the EE and just got it today. Can't find the markings on the barrel. took the handguards off but still didn't see anything??? Do I have to remove the barrel? Any help would be appreciated |

Hello RRA Moderator,
I am a new Rock River owner, as I purchased my first AR earlier this week. I was hopeful that I might be able to find out as much detail about my RRA "Entry Tactical"(as referenced on my receipt) as possible by referencing it's seriai # here, as I purchased it new. Since there wasn't anything material from RRA enclosed that specified what model / options, I was hopeful that I could get more information here. Here are the details / characteristics: Serial # CM206350 16" bbl A2 Buttstock Hogue Grip Tactical Detachable Carry Handle w/ A2 sight. As they say - "This is MY rifle. There are many like it, but this one is Mine....", so I want to be as knowledgable about it as I can. Thanks in advance for any information / assistance you may be able to provide. Regards, Frank |

Okay, What is a 204 C-M ???????? Really, the question is what the C-M stands for, as I know what the 204 means. Edit: Ah, figured it out... C-M stands for Chrome lined - Chrome Moly Barrel...

It has the same markings on top of the barrel near the flash suppressor, the keyhole on the upper and the laser engraving on top. I got it straight from RRA.. are you saying it isn't one of yours?? |

I bought a Frakenstein AR this weekend. It has a laser engraved Rock Ricver upper.
I took the handgaurds off and by the delta ring I see the numbers 232 stamped on top of the chamber.That tells me it's a Moly light-weight CAR (if it is a Rock River barrel). The part that throws me is there's a number 8 stamped. It's not inline with the 232. The 232 is at the 12 o clock position and the 8 is stamped at the 3 o clock position. Is this one of your barrels? |
| Hi I've got this rifle when the ban was in affect for varmint hunting, this is about 12 + years ago, but didn't had the chance to until now. I don't see any marking on the barrel to say if it's .223 or 5.56. But the lower does say that it's 5.56 caliber. The lower also is the old RRA style with the ROCK RIVER ARMS stamp and not like the new cool emblem now. Does anyone know if the rifle is indeed chambered in 5.56? I took the hand guard and gas tube off and try to see if there are any marking. But there arent any.Much thanks. |

If it's one of our barrels, the 223 would tell us that it's an unthreaded 20" stainless match barrel...but I don't remember any coming through with slashes, prefixes, etc...like you're describing. It might not be an RRA barrel, or even one of our uppers/rifles.

The doubt of authenticity has me concerned as it came in one of your blue cases, with all the paperwork. If it's counterfeit, someone is very good at it.

I just purchased a used RRA LAR-15, cal. 5.56, serial # CM30042. Could you please tell me the date of manufacture and how it was originally configured when it left the shop? Right now, it has an 18" stainless steel bull barrel with a free floating handguard, a picatinny gas block, and an A3 upper. I measured the twist rate using a bore brush and cleaning rod and came up with 1:8. I'd like to now if the upper assembly was ever swapped out. Any information would be greatly appreciated ! That serial number left the factory in June '04 as an A2-stocked lower half with a 2-stage trigger.

| Just recieved my ATH LAR-15 yesterday. I read in an earlier post that the barrel markings are just in front of the chamber on top. Question one is why would RRA put them there when everyone else puts them near the end where it can be easily seen and read? With all of the free floated uppers and RASS units out there it makes it very difficult to verify what it is, especially if you have taken the upper off of the lower and now you can't even determine what caliber it is without some disassembly. Sorry, it just caught me off gaurd to get a new rifle in and the barrel wasn't easily identifiable like my other rifles. I purchased an elite operator and I was so impressed with the accuracy and function I ordered the ATH, it has the barrel markings in the normal place, thank you.. |
