Just bought and took delivery of the RRage Carbine DS1850. Haven't shot it yet due to the virus lockdown, but will as soon as I can get out again. Wanting to make a few changes to it, but very impressed with the fit and finish and assembly. Want to change the 6 Position tactical CAR stock to an operator type with the Quick detach sling mounts on the stock and change out the shorter free floating rail and use the DS1700 3G free floating rail that is 15" long. I can mount a quick detach sling mount on the rail right next to the receiver, with a 2 point sling. Mount a set of back up iron sights and either a red dot sight or a 1x6 scope. Mount a light on the front end of the rail and I would have exactly what I want in an AR. Looks like Rock River is not selling the 3G rail that comes on the new 3G Rifle DS1700 separately. I sent an email looking for one, and was told they are behind in keeping up with orders for that model rifle and wont be selling the rail separate. So, if anyone buys one and decides to change the rail out for anything else, please let me know. Test fired my DS1850 Carbine yesterday and had no failures in 50 rounds. So far it looks great. Fired it again today with the new scope mounted on it and the sling. Mounted a Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6x24mm and the Raine Gear Issue Sling with Mlock mount on the handguard and the back end mounted on the rear of stock. Had a friend with me, and it only took 2 adjustments to get it zeroed. Put the next 10 rounds in rapid fire into the smallest silhouette, about a 1 inch group at 25 yards. He tried and really liked it too. He also had about a 1 inch group with 10 rounds. Can't wait to get outside at longer range and see what it will do. Still want to sell the short Mlock handguard and get the longer one, and change out the rear stock for one with the QD link on it. 91F Small Arms & Artillery Repair NCO |

My build sounds close to what you want to do...., RRage 3G mid length upper Generic stripped lower RRA lower parts kit RRA 2 stage match trigger LaRue RAT stock LaRue QD mount Leupold fixed 2.5x scope Magpul offset picatinny mount Stream light LED light at 11 o’clock left side Magpul pro offset backup sights Harris mlok bipod adapter Magpul MS1 sling Still figuring out what it likes to eat. Federal XM193 groups much tighter than Winchester white box .223. Best group so far is 1 1/8” prone on a bipod at 100 yards using Hornady 52 grain match reloads. 69 grain Sierra MK’s shoot about the same size groups with a higher point of impact. I’ve been very impressed by this “budget” upper. 100% reliable so far with a mix of Pmags and old surplus straight 20’s. |
| I have the rrage carbine with the short rail, I've put about 100 rounds through it and this rifle is tight! I have a mlok flashlight and mbus flip ups and an eotech exps3-0, I bought a mlok sling swivel and ran 2 point through the factory stock slot. Also added a magpul moe + grip. I want a longer rail as well but I was thinking of just getting a national match upper to stick on it but that may be over kill. I'm getting crazy over it lol. Also built a .300 blk with anderson lower and psa upper. Have 550 in the psa and 650 plus in the rrage |

Finally just ordered a complete upper from Rock River with the 3G handguard, so I will end up with two uppers. Will mount my Vortex Strike Eagle scope on a cantilever mount and back up iron front sight and Matech rear sight. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive. Will shoot and post results when it is finally complete. |

Ordered the Rrage 3G Upper on 06-05-2021, and recieved it today 08-26-2021, so very pleased with the time to deliver since I had seen 6 to 8 months mentioned elsewhere. 2.5 Months is not too bad in todays business calendar. Will take it shooting in the next few days and let you know how it does. Like that the longer handguard has the quick disconnect link holes already built in, where the shorter one did not. They might rethink that and add them before shipping. Have to figure out the buis front and rear and the mounts since my others use the rail behind the sights, and there aren't any behind the front sight on the longer handguard, if I mount my flashlight there. |

The only thing I did not like on the Rock River is the fact that they use a commercial rear stock tube instead of milspec. This makes it hard to find stocks that you can change out like the B5 Sopmod and others. Since that is what i wanted, I bought a Aero Precision lower and mounted the B5 Sopmod stock on it with the Rock River upper on it, to have what I wanted. Handling is great and the long rail system works very well, with my flashlight or laser on the very end, it basically gives me a handstop at the right spot for my use. Very lightweight and better than the rail system on my issued M4. This has become my go to rifle for all uses. Glad I built what I wanted. |
