Several of the guys I was there with were talking about it, and this may be a good idea for Range Day 2012... Team up with one of the blood drives and have the ability to donate blood. There were tons of us there that thought we'd be able to exceed the blood drive's capacity had it been available.
Just a thought. |

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time.
My suggestions for next year: Get straight to the point during the raffles. They would cease fire during the raffles and it really cut into the shooting time. Helicopters and skydivers are cool, but getting to shoot every gun at every demo range would have been even cooler. I think the lines would move faster if on the signs for the demos it explained what weapon and features on the weapon were being demoed, and what you would be doing in the demo. That would save the range officers from having to explain it to every shooter thus saving time. If your ole lady, friends, family etc. ain't into shooting, don't bring them(I am guilty of this one). The time to learn how to shoot is not at range day. I've never seen so many ladies standing while leaning on one hip with their arms folded in my life. Thank God for the raffle tickets (wife loves to gamble) or my wife would have been harping on me to leave. |

not sure if serious. I wouldnt mind anyone going as long as they walk away with a positive experience not a negative one. My wife didnt go but I wish she would have.

Awesome experience, and I'm sure it will be fine tuned even more. |

Both are hook and will attend next year. My brother may go also since the guys he works with caught the black rifle disease also. |

I keep trying to type up a post for this thread - but the problem is you did a great job (even the date was great). So I will echo the main comment of this tread - have a 2012 range day. Here are my suggestions for 2012: Start saving earlier - to purchase more of all the new stuff I WILL want. Show up earlier - so I can shoot more, see more, and grab more. Bring a bigger range bag for all the swag (of course if I had shown up earlier this would not have been an issue as the NRA was very generous on this). Keep eyes more open for those bags of taco's someone else mentioned, your brisket was delicious. Plan my stages better - sounds like I really missed out on a few. Make sure I plan time to place range day orders before I leave. ––- In another post I read you mentioning that you made 40 new rifles used rifles. Next year engrave them "2012 Range Day" and sell them as limited editions (or as part of the range day specials). Collector rifles, full win - the ultimate take home souvenir. |
