Will I picked up my PSA lower yesterday and got it together for todays range test wit its new 16" PSA chf upper.
loaded up 10 rounds of 55g FMJ reloads in a Pmag . first shop ejected at 1.00 second again 1.00 third short stroked/ FTF (bolt closed on the partial loaded shell case) i removed the PSA carbine buffer and replaced it with a PSA Heavy buffer. this did move the ejcetion to the 3 oclock position but still did the same thing. I then tried some wolf 62g hp and was able to run 10 rounds no problem. so i tried some other brass case stuff i had and those shells fell on the bechtop right (ejected less than a foot from the rifle) went back to wolf andejected normally wenty back to first stuff and short stroked. So Yes I can Call/will PSA but just trying to problem solve here first. Bolt was disasembled and cleaned and lubed with break free CLP . gas rings are staggered (not that that matters) mags used were PMAG,Trot and C-Porducts. Buffers tried were PSA Carbine (2.94 oz and a PSA 3.78 buffer and a DPMS 2.98 Buffer) also had tried a firly new RRA bolt of a buddies with same results Build it PSA 16" CHF upper/bolt ect. Lower is PSA LPK PSA –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Plan is try some factory AE223 ammo and a diffrent buffer spring I may try. the PSA buffer is shorter and looks like stiffer than the other i have. I will try my other lower with PSA parts kit which has ran flawlessly to eliminate that possability. So looking on suggestions never seen shells eject like this before except form a bolt action rifle. the shots that did get down range were very good. i was just usung a 1-4 scope at 100 yrds and was holding 2moa with the wolf. wasnt focused on accuracy but more as a function and "break in" |

I have the same 16" Hammer Forged upper.. but plan on running PMC XTAC 5.56 62gr Green Tip for starters first..
my last upper (DPMS) didn't like the WPA 55gr mil-classic AT ALL.. and not the Silverbear 62gr SP either.. I am breaking this one in with new NATO spec ammo first.. then MAYBE down the line try some of steel cased Russian offerings.. (thats a BIG maybe).. TONS of negatives on Wolf and Tula in the Ammunition forums.. and maybe your reloads were under SNUFF?? I am testing mine Saturday at 8:30 and I will be posting results also.. I have a DPMS 223/5.56 lower and std factory Carbine buffer.. |

We broke my dads in with the 62g x-tac and had no issues. We have since shot 55g Rem UMC with no issues. I have not tried any WPA or tula yet either in the PSA or my SPIKES. I am getting good results using the x-tac and the Prvi 69g hollow points.
Were those brass factory reloads or something that was hand loaded. |

didn't you have a post in this forum asking if the PSA uppers will run steel ammo?? some say yes, some say no.. I would ALWAYS start a new AR with decent ammo.. reloads and steel is not a good option.. IMHO.. Yes I did post that. mainly because some manufactures wont warranty if steel or surplus ammo is used. I dont recommend either. as for the reloads no problems in any of the other rifles but there all middys this is the first carbine. I only ran the reloads since i didnt have any factory ammo. loads are mild just 25g varget with 55g fmj in LC brass. I dont run steel in mine if i dont have to. but the wolf was available to me today to try so i figured what the hell i am at the range i gotta try something else. |

They do test fire. not sure how much but 2 other manufactures i know of do 10 rounds 5 fast 5 slow fire.
But i went to the range today after picking up a box of American eagle AE223 first thing i tried was a different lower and it functioned fine. so I went back to the PSA lower and it run the AE223 just fine with it ejection in the 2 o'clock position so after 20 rounds of the AE223 I still had some wolf so i ran 10 rounds of that with no problems and had to try some other reloads that were in my range bag and they functioned fine. So it looks like all is good now. about the only thing i did from yesterday was pulled the BCG out again and removed the bolt cleaned it again and lubed the gas rings up and reinstalled it after spraying it down with CLP. I did swap the buffer spring and buffer to the DPMS spring and buffer but didn't make a huge difference . As for reloads It will probably never see again other than commercial bought re-manufactured ammo. at the most. It is a present for my brother and it will be a plinker/safe queen at most. so it just has to function with what ever ammo the runs in it. which i will lead him to the AE223 or PMC ammo due to availability and cost. Thank You PSA 1 Upper 2 lowers and 4 LPKs a SPARC and lots of ammo i have been a very satisfied customer. |
| PSA confirmed with me that their barrel is lead lapped so there is no need for breaking in. My upper was dead on accurate right out of the box with multiple type of 223 and 5.56. I have been getting 1" or smaller grouping with mine I can even get bullet gonig through same holes =D using just the iron sights. |

We strongly reccommend you use only quality first run ammunition. As good as your warranty is I doubt I would ever put any steel case through mine. Reload may be if I do it myself ever haha. But I would like to know PSA opinion on steel case ammo on your upper? |
