I completed my build a short while ago.  I bought CMMG's .22 barrel and their complete bolt to fashion a dedicated .22 upper.  On top I used a Primary Arms micro red dot with an inexpensive riser.  I used CMMG's 15 and 26 round mags.  Also included were a couple of Spike's 26 round mags.
Brought along Winchester bulk, Federal bulk, Blaser, American Eagle, Aguila and various other ammo.
My son and I experienced zero failures.  Not one single problem of any kind.  All the magazines worked properly.  I can assure you it is a fine feeling going through 6 or 7 hundred rounds without a problem.  My son had a blast going through magazine after magazine.  A very good day.

Congrats on the build. I've found the same. It's nice to go through 100's of rounds without having to break it down and removed cases or have FTF's.
Enjoy.
Only rounds I have trouble with is Remingtons, and it will feed them for a little while, until gunk builds up on the ramp.

It's great to hear that a plan came together. CMMG, providing "Priceless Memories" for you and your Son...

Another day at the range produced similar results regarding reliability.  I installed the new charging handle and it works fine.
I had one classic stovepipe with the rim pointing outside the ejection port.  This was about round three hundred on the way to six or eight hundred rounds.  I do not keep an exact count as both my son and I take turns with the rifle and several pistols.  I did notice something related to the Federal bulk I have been using.  I have not been getting the usual crack, crack, crack, poof, crack.  Most know what I mean.  Maybe the latest batches are getting better.  I hope so as I have a fair stock of the 525 boxes.
Shooting a dedicated .22 is fun.  Shooting one that is reliable is great fun.

Good to hear. I hope you are right about the Federal. I've written them and bitched enough. Maybe enough people complained to make them take a look.
I went so far as to tell them the Fed sits on the shelf with the Reminton while the Winchester sells out.

"I went so far as to tell them the Fed sits on the shelf with the Reminton while the Winchester sells out."  Ouch!

If my experience is an accurate picture of the present and future of bulk Federal 22 ammo, shooters will be in good shape.
