I have access to a lathe with 4 jaw chuck, and have some experience with it. What is involved with recountouring a barrel? Would I want to zero the runout by chucking up the barrel extension in the 4 jaw chuck and then using the floating center on the end of the barrel? Do I need to remove the flash hider for the floating center? Anything else I am missing? I realize this is something that you guys do, but since I have a lathe available to me, and am trying to keep a lightweight build on a budget, I'd like to try this myself. |

Good luck, the shop guys wont even tell me how they do anything. The only response you'll get from the guys who do my work is "Figure it out for yourself."
