We are looking at ways to help moderate the page, since we are the creators of the subreddit, we wish to internally manage it. It was experiencing a few issues, notably, users violating Reddit's Rules causing the subreddit to be under threat of removal. So the easiest way to preserve the page was to make it temporarily private until we have the ability to safeguard the page from Reddit's auto-moderators. We see the same thing with Facebook, where we need to remove content sometimes or risk getting a strike. |
