For some reason this popped into my head after seeing the receiver value thread below. I don't remember if there was an official outcome about them being real or fake. Or did it just fade away. |

I was thinking the ones that flaked were deemed fake and the ones that looked the same but didn't flake were deemed real. Not sure who/how that was exactly confirmed. @TGWLDR or @oxford411 are most likely better resources and have a better memory than me... |

| I bought one of those uppers from a member here and posted a ton of pictures in that thread you are referring to of the raised C flaking off when running a fingernail over it, even posted a picture of the C by itself next to my fingernail. The EE seller refunded and I returned the upper without issues. Photos of that were held ransom by photobucket and I'm not going to give them money. |

It was certainly an odd one regarding those uppers. I don’t have any other real info on them other than I won’t buy any upper that looks “questionable” |
