I've got a 308 barrel that I used way too much Rocksett on. I've tried everything - long soaks in water, hot water, a hammer. It won't budge.

Will the $40 service to remove still apply?  I thought about using a dremel and nut splitter, but not buggering up the threads would be really nice.

ETA: Nevermind.  My final try, a 4 day soak in soapy water got it loose.  For anyone that gets brought here via search (hence the edit because I don't want to bump this in ADCO's forum), coat the muzzle device with CLP, fill a cup with warm soapy water, and immerse the muzzle in it up past the threads.  You will not have to use more torque to take it off than you used to put it on.

If you want to keep the MD, dry it and recoat with CLP.  Clean the muzzle threads with hot water and a toothbrush.

Rocksett is easier to break than blue loctite, it doesn't degrade with heat like the loctite will.

So I've read.  I've put 80ft/lbs on this thing after a 36 hour soak and it didn't budge.  The barrel is a Rainer Match so I don't want to risk going any further.

The removal service will get it off.
